Beer Table
As some of you may know, there’s a new beer-tasting bar in Park Slope called Beer Table (http://www.beertable.com/). I was there on Saturday and I think it might be worth a field trip for Beer Club. Some have called the bar snooty — perhaps because some of the beers are served in snifters and the waiter is actually more of a highly knowledgeable beer sommelier — but it’s just right for us beer sophisticates. Everyday there’s a new beer on tap (right now they’re serving Bayerischer Banhoff Berliner-Style Weisse, Stone Imperial Russian Stout, Wintercoat Cockney Imperial Stout, Victory Hop Devil on cask and JW Lees Harvest Ale 2007 matured in a port cask), and there are about 30 bottles of things I’ve never heard of. One of them cost $48 for a 750 mL bottle. The only problem is there isn’t a lot of space — I think there are only three tables that seat 10 — but otherwise I think it’d be great for a meeting.
